One of Ian’s biggest supporters, Tatiana who’s on Twitter @Tat_Yatanis……treated Ian and fans to her latest compilation video of his most recent TV character, Russ Taylor from MacGyver!
Tatiana’s videos are some of the best when it comes to fan made videos…….it’s commonly said she uses her “Tat Magic” to always bring an entertaining video viewing experience for fans everywhere. Whether its her magic or more what we believe is, her amazing videography skills, one thing is certain. It’s always a pleasure watching them!
In this one, she captures so much of Russ’s sense of humor and unique charm, which made him a fan favorite rather quickly when Ian joined the cast for the show’s 4th and 5th seasons.
While CBS announced plans not to renew MacGyver for a 6th season, disappointing the show’s fans worldwide, we’re so grateful CBS gave Ian the opportunity to bring Russ to the screen and in a character that both he and viewers enjoyed so much.
Here’s to Russ Taylor and here’s to Tatiana’s video showing us some of his most best and entertaining moments. Enjoy!

Ian teased on IG yesterday if he was doing his last ever ADR for MacGyver.
For all seen purposes, it seems likely it is.
If it is, we will say good bye to his character Russ Taylor with sadness and a thank you! Thank you to the writers and to Ian for bringing us a character, fans received with open hearts and big welcomes….and sadness because it truly feels like we just met him!
What else lies beneath his surface we may never know but we feel there was much more to see and tell about this wonderful character. He was a departure in many ways from Ian’s previous roles and it was so wonderful to watch him week after week!
Ian has a gift for lightheartedness and comical lines and MacGyver and Russ allowed him to show that side of his acting ability. In addition, Russ could be quite serious too and he lead Team Phoenix with direction and authority. We will truly miss him!
We wish all of the talented MacGyver cast……Lucas Till, Tristin Mays, Justin Hires, Meredith Eaton and Levy Tran, the very best in their future acting endeavors. We feel sure we will be seeing them all in other roles and projects! Our very best wishes to them all!
Thank you to CBS, MacGyver and Team Phoenix for providing us with quality entertainment week after week!
As a couple of Ian’s other characters would say……….’see you in another life’…….and ‘may we meet again!’
And as we’ll hear Russ say tonight………’here’s to the next chapter.’
*Last but certainly not least, a huge THANK YOU to the MacGyver fans! For your dedication, your love, your support and your tenacity to never give up on the show! A stronger and more dedicated fandom has never been seen and should we all get the outcome of #SaveMacGyver we are hoping for…..or we don’t……just know your efforts and the campaign didn’t go unnoticed and will forever be appreciated!!* SaveMacGyver.com

With the show’s cancellation coming as a complete surprise…….while still holding good ratings and being number one in it’s timeslot during the duration of the show’s run……fans are not willing to see their show vanish just yet!
The MacGyver team welcomed Ian into the family just two years ago and he’s appreciated so much, all the support for his character, Russ Taylor. It’s been an extreme pleasure to see how the audience has enjoyed Russ and how well received he’s been!
There is a campaign and a petition to save the show and bring it back for a final season 6 so Team Phoenix can have a finished story.
Never underestimate the power of fans…….and thanks can not be expressed enough by the cast and crew, for all their support through the years and now for their desire to not give up on MacGyver!
They are using the #SaveMacGyver hashtag across social media platforms in their tweets and posts, writing CBS with their requests and sending thousands of paper clips to the production office as well. In addition, they have started a petition to also demonstrate to CBS how much they want season 6.
Whether the fans’ efforts bring forth the result they are all hoping for or it doesn’t, their efforts will always be appreciated!
Below is the link to sign the petition to Save MacGyver and please feel free to sign, if you want the show to have a final 6th season. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!

In his humorous way, Ian tweeted a heartfelt ‘Thank You’ to his MacGyver cast and crew on Wednesday after news broke of the show’s cancellation. The series will conclude with the season 5 finale to air on April 30.
There are three new episodes left, beginning with tonight’s 13th episode. There will also be a repeat of 5.01 with Egor (Jean Brassard) and the Zurich Grand, on April 23rd.
Fans are still shell shocked over the sudden announcement, the show’s rating were still in good ranges and a season 6 renewal was expected, certainly by all the fans.
It’s been a Friday night staple for the network since 2016
CBS is ending its “MacGyver” reboot after five years.
The drama, shot in metro Atlanta, will air its series finale on Friday, April 30, during its regular 8 p.m. slot. That will be its 94th episode.
It was a reliable Friday night fixture, a lead-in to “Hawaii Five-O,” then “Magnum P.I.,” two other rebooted shows from decades past. This season, it averaged nearly 6 million viewers a week.
The original series ran for seven seasons from 1985 to 1992 starring Richard Dean Anderson as a man with a knack for solving problems using common products like duct tape and a Swiss Army Knife.
Lucas Till, 2008 Kell High School graduate from Marietta, stars in the current version as Angus “Mac” MacGyver, a modern-day version of Anderson’s character, still solving problems via ingenious means.
“MacGyver” behind the scenes has had some rocky moments. George Eads, formerly of “CSI,” played MacGyver’s right-hand man Jack Walton but had conflicts on set and quit during the third season. His character was killed off-camera in season five. The show hired Henry Ian Cusick of “Lost” fame to play tycoon Russell “Russ/Rusty” Taylor season four.
Till himself told the magazine that Lenkov drove him to his “breaking point” through bullying and verbal abuse that included body-shaming.
Monica Macer replaced Lenkov as showrunner for season five.
“All of us at CBS are extremely grateful for the incredible work and dedication from Lucas and the rest of the cast, as well as Monica, the writers and the entire crew,” said Kelly Kahl, president of CBS Entertainment. “The ‘MacGyver’ team traveled far and wide to repeatedly save the world with little more than bubble gum and a paper clip and made this show distinctly their own. We’re gratified we get to give this dedicated and loyal fan base the opportunity to say goodbye to their favorite characters in the thoughtful manner this series deserves.”
The show, which also features Atlanta-based actor Justin Hires, creatively used metro Atlanta and green screen as the “MacGyver” team traveled around the world to fight crime
“Barn Find + Oil Slick + La Punzonatura + Lab Rats + Tachometer” – While Mac and the team delve into the world of Italian car culture in order to track down a crime boss-in-hiding, Mac must lean on Desi when he discovers that he losing the ability to control his hands. Also, Mac and Desi move in together and Riley reveals the truth about her secret team of hackers to Russ, on MACGYVER, Friday, April 9 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
REGULAR CAST: Lucas Till (Angus “Mac” MacGyver) Tristin Mays (Riley Davis) Justin Hires (Wilt Bozer) Meredith Eaton (Matty Weber) Levy Tran (Desi Nguyen) Henry Ian Cusick (Russ Taylor)

If you’re a MacGyver fan patiently waiting for Phoenix Foundation owner Russ Taylor (Henry Ian Cusick) to have some romance on the CBS crime drama, the wait is over. On the January 22 quarantine-themed episode, a COVID-related shacking up results in a deeper relationship for Russ and his long-distance occasional fling, Sofia Walker (Camilla Arfwedson).
Check out the exclusive clip from the episode above and, below, our chat with Cusick, who talks Russ’s dynamic with Sofia, shooting an intimate sword fight with COVID safety restrictions, and whether fans from Lost(where Cusick played heroic Desmond Hume) still reach out to him.
It’s about time Russ had some love in his life.
Henry Ian Cusick: Yes! Russ is getting a romance! Camilla is lovely to work with. She brings something else to the show [as Sofia] in that she’s not all that she seems.
I do prefer the action stuff and running around, and the romance kind of takes you away from all that, but — the stuff that I’ve shot with Camilla will intertwine action and romance. Of course with Russ, it’s not just going to be romance. There’s always going to be humor in there because he can be so, what’s the word? Buffoonish?
Do you think viewers will look at Russ differently now that he’s involved with someone?
You did get a taste of it last season in a flashback episode with a girl he went to see, and Russ has dropped lines that he’s been married more than once. But he’s certainly the older character in the show so, is this his last hope at a full fledged, proper settling down romance? I don’t know. I doubt it, but I’m thinking that he thinks that, so that could be interesting.
Apparently there’s a sword fighting that happens while Russ and Sofia are in lockdown that has a seductive element to it?
That sword fight was interesting. Because of COVID, it just takes up a lot more time [to shoot]. You’re testing and cleaning and resetting and everything just takes a lot of time with filming. They wrote it and the director said, “We’re going to cut it because it’s just going to take up too much.” We kind of fought for it and I’m so glad that that sword fight was back in. It just makes it a little bit more sexy, and Camilla’s character is aristocratic so it brings that element to it.
What draws Russ to Sophia?
They’ve been longtime friends and have been having these long-distance flings. So they meet up and hook up for a couple of days and that’s all the relationship was. Now with the quarantine episode, it’s more about, “Well, we’ve been together for a month now and we get on really well. How far are we going to take it?” Also in that episode, I get to play a musical instrument, which is great.
The drums, so that’s quite fun.
Your former Lost co-star, Jorge Garcia, is guesting in the episode that airs on February. Do you still hear from Lost fans?
Oh, for sure. I have some Lost fans that came with me to The 100 and then came with me to MacGyver. Coming to The 100 was an easy switch from Lost because they’re similar shows, but MacGyver is a big jump, so I’m very grateful, But, especially now during COVID, MacGyver is such a fun show to watch.

This week’s episode will bring MacGyver’s 4th season to a close but before the season ends……. this finale episode promises to be full of everything you’ve come to expect from our team at Phoenix!
With last week’s episode, we saw Mac and Riley seemingly switch sides and join up with Codex. Was it all to infiltrate and gain excess so they might be able to take down the organization? We should get that answer and more in this 13th and finale episode. There are questions about Russ, his motives and intentions, including his reason behind buying Phoenix. Hopefully our questions will be answered by time the episode and season concludes this Friday night! Don’t miss it 8/7c on CBS….
