The SAG-AFTRA Hawai‘i Local Conservatory recently hosted a table reads event featuring short scripts, drawing a capacity crowd to the event at ’Ōlelo Community Media.

 

Local actors and writers came together to present live readings of several short scripts, offering an opportunity for writers to hear their work performed and for members to connect through the creative process. The strong response resulted in a standing-room-only audience, and the Local is exploring ways to accommodate more members at future Conservatory events.

 

The Hawai‘i Local thanks ’Ōlelo Community Media for once again hosting the Conservatory and for its continued support of Hawai‘i’s creative community.

To wrap up the event, guest panelists Gerard Elmore, Jordan Kandell, Noah Evslin and Alex Bocchieri answered questions and offered thoughtful advice. Drawing from their work across studio films, network TV, indie features and commercials, they generously shared mentorship and encouragement with everyone in attendance. Hawai‘i Local President and Conservatory Committee Co-Chair Henry Ian Cusick moderated the panel.

Thanks all of the members who attended, submitted scripts or contributed to making the event possible. Members who were unable to attend are encouraged to watch for announcements about upcoming Conservatory events.
